Funds for electronic stethoscopes for hearing impaired
Provided by 3M Littmann Stethoscopes 24/11/2008 - Federal Govt funding may be available for 'tools of trade' such as an electronic stethoscope that amplifies sound and reduces ambient noise if you are hearing impaired. There is a Federal Govt. Dept called Work Access. It is possible that they would reimburse 100% of the cost of an amplified stethoscope under the 'Workplace Modification Scheme' but only if it could be demonstrated that a) the person has a disability (i.e. hearing loss) and that b) the item is only of use in the workplace. The application for reimbursement needs to be from the employer, the 'service provider' or a 'vocational......'. The application process details can be found in the 'Workplace Modification Scheme'. The attached link provides the details. http://www.jobaccess.gov.au/JOAC/Advice/ProductOrSolutionOne/Stethoscopes_amplified.htm News Articles
