Statis Range - At Risk Patient
Statis is a hollow core anti-decubitus fibre with qualities which help to combat the problems leading to the development of a pressure ulcer.
It will not only assist in the prevention of pressure ulcers, but also helps to ease discomfort where they have already occurred.
When used in conjunction with hospital patient care procedures the Statis product range offers particular benefits for the 'At Risk' patient.
The qualities of the Statis hollow core fibre are numerous:
Provides loft The construction of the Statis hollow core fibre provides comfort and support for the patient.
The bolster effect helps spread the pressure over a greater area.
The beneficial effect is the reduction of skin distortion, and resultant shear forces, thereby helping to lower vulnerability to pressure ulcer development.
Air flow helps prevent skin maceration The hollow core fibres and cotton fabric allow air to flow freely through the padding which helps to prevent skin maceration.
The hollow core fibre construction of each Statis product offers outstanding loft and air flow characteristics.
Friction reduced coating the fibres with Silicone aids friction reduction thus helping to minimise shear forces inside the padding.
This also guards against saturation by moisture from, for example, urine whilst allowing the padding to be laundered and dried more effectively for continued use.
Being highly breathable and cool, the cotton cover helps to minimise the build up of humidity. It is therefore more likely to be tolerated by most skin types.
