The Wool Bed Sock / Slipper is made from 100% pure sheep’s wool, specially treated for Hospital conditions to help prevent pressure problems and it is easy to machine or hand wash. The wool has a knitted back cloth that allows air to breathe whereas sheepskin has a leather skin backing. The wool will help keep the feet warm with the added benefit of providing some pressure care for the heels.
The Wool Bed Sock / Slipper is placed on the foot like a normal pair of socks. Some people may be able to walk indoors in them, even though they do not have a sole or heel like walking slippers. However they are designed for use in bed and less abled people may not be able to walk safely.
Normally one size will fit most people and stay on the feet during the night, unless the person deliberately takes them off. If a larger or smaller size is need, we should be able to make them to order.
Washing Instructions for the Wool Bed Sock / Slipper:
Use pure soap or a recommended wool detergent. Gently hand wash in warm water, maximum 5 minutes. Rinse twice in lukewarm water, 3 minutes each time. Do not wring, shake the sheepskin vigorously to raise the wool fibres. Dry flat in the shade, or on a line. This sheepskin may be dry-cleaned. Air well after dry-cleaning.
