Indications

  • Supracondylar femoral fractures (33-A1 to A3)
  • Supra-diacondylar femoral fractures (33-C1 to C3.1)
  • Diaphyseal femoral fractures (32-A to C)

In addition, the DFN may be recommended for the intramedullary stabilisation of femoral fractures, in which a retrograde approach is indicated, e.g. for obese patients, for pregnant women; for ipsilateral fractures of the femur and the patella as well as the femoral and tibial diaphysis; for patients with implants in the proximal femoral region and patients with existing TKR (depending on its design)
