What is the cold chain?
Very simply the "cold chain" is the system of transporting and storing vaccines, insulin and any other temperature sensitive products in the prescribed manner and controlling the temperature of product stored in a refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius aiming for an average of 5 degrees.
Why do I need to service my medical refrigerator?
Annual maintenance on your medical refrigerator while not mandatory is strongly recommended by the manufacturer and most regulatory bodies such as: The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, QCPP, AGPAL, Divisions of GP etc. As with all expensive medical appliances, these recommendations are there for a reason and should be taken into serious consideration.
A purpose built medical refrigerator is a precision medical instrument and requires regular maintenance and calibration to ensure that it does its job accurately and efficiently.
What are the benefits of regular maintenance?
Regular maintenance ensures your medical refrigerator is operating at its optimum performance which means that it will be under less stress and therefore extend the refrigerator’s life expectancy, incur less wear and tear and use less energy. Whilst continuing to maintain stable cold chain temperature.
A Rollex technician will visit for each service and you will be able to ask them any questions you have regarding the operation of the refrigerator, monitoring software or storage of your refrigerated product.
At each service a temperature data-logger will be placed in the refrigerator for 7 days and you will receive a copy of this temperature report that ensures the refrigerator is performing as it should.

4.Use hairdryer to remove ice from cold plate

6.Turn fridge back on
You need to investigate why the fridge has iced up. Normally it is because

4.Or some combination of these

My fridge shows a max over 8
Detail: The Max displayed is over 8 degrees.
What to do: It is quite acceptable for the fridge to sometimes show a maximum over 8 degrees.
The important issue is whether it is going into ALARM mode. If it doesn’t alarm it means that the fridge may have been over the range for a short time – but under 15 mins.
Be aware that we can adjust the fridge to run colder at the top (without affecting the bottom temp), however it is getting the compressor to work harder than is necessary.
