Senile itching (pruritus) is associated with strong soaps and "waterborne bacteria" has been linked to serious morbidity and mortality.

The purpose of a bath is to cleanse the skin, remove harmful bacteria, control odour, stimulate tissue and promote relaxation and comfort, while providing an opportunity for skin monitoring and/or assessment.

The acid mantle of the skin is pH 4.5 - 5.5 which retards bacterial and fungal growth and provides for lubrication and skin hydration; cleansers with pH nearest to that of the skin protect the acid mantle. AHRQ "Guidelines for Skin Cleansing" recommends a "mild cleansing agent to minimise irritation and dryness of the skin..." and to use washcloths that "minimise force and friction applied to the skin."

A unique cleansing formula that has a pH closest to that of normal healthy skin. It nourishes and moisturises with Aloe and Vitamin E and uses ultra soft garment quality disposable washcloths to reduce drag and friction against sensitive skin which is less traumatic than rough, laundered washcloths.
