General Practice allows us to provide a more holistic approach to medicine, offering both primary healthcare and workplace healthcare under the one roof.
General Practice encompasses a range of services including Family Medicine, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Immunisations, Travel Medicine, Chronic Disease Management and Skin Screening.
Family Medicine is centred on the practice of developing long-lasting, caring relationships with patients and their families. Family Medicine is a more holistic approach to healthcare, taking into consideration the continuing and comprehensive health of an individual and their family across all ages, sexes, organ systems and every disease entity.
Women face a special set of health needs and often require a doctor with knowledge and interest in this area of medicine. The practice of Women’s Health covers a comprehensive array of healthcare services specifically designed for women including preventative medicine, PAP screening, nutrition, contraception, breast screening, osteoporosis, menopause and infectious disease.
Men’s Health refers to a set of health issues specific to the human male anatomy such as prostate screening, sexual health, hormone and prostate disorders and pathology testing.
Immunisation is the most significant health intervention in the last 200 years, providing a safe and efficient way to help prevent the spread of disease. Our clinics offer a variety of immunisations – both onsite and offsite – including influenza, childhood immunisations, tetanus and hepatitis.
Our clinics are equipped to provide a range of travel medicine services including vaccinations such as Yellow Fever, travel first aid kits, travel health advice plans and trave medications. We work in partnership with one of the country’s largest travel medicine providers, Travelvax.
Chronic Disease Management
Chronic Disease Management is the coordination and care of treatment for patients with chronic or terminal medical conditions such as coronary heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, depression, Type 2 diabetes, asthma or osteoporosis. The vast majority of Chronic Diseases do not fix themselves and are generally not cured completely so it’s important to build a long-term care plan with a healthcare professional.
With two in three Australian’s being diagnosed with Skin Cancer by the age of 70, it’s important to ensure regular skin checks are undertaken. Our physicians are trained in the diagnoses and management of skin problems including cancers.
