APS Medical Insufflator Filter and Extension Line Set

Alternate end fittings facilitate connection to the majority of Insufflation machines.

An extension line with luer lock connector is fitted to the filter. The moulded insufflator filter contains a high efficiency, hydrophobic media to provide clean, particle-free, dry gas to the insufflation needle and peritoneum.

Independent laboratory tests have measured the following filtration efficiencies by testing random samples of sterile and non-sterile filters:

  • Bacterial Filtration Efficiency 99.9999%
  • Viral Filtration Efficiency 99.997%
  • Water Resistance 7 kPa applied pressure for 10 minutes

Filter connections are available as:

  • 22mm diameter female taper for direct fitting to the gas supply tube
  • 5mm inside diameter silicone tube to sleeve over male gas supply fitting
  • male luer lock to connect to gas supply female luer fitting

A high flow, 3 metre long extension line is bonded to the filter. The distal end is fitted with male luer lock for connection to an insufflation needle or trocar. The filter /extension line sets are available non-sterile singly wrapped or sterile double wrapped in a peel pouch.

A high flow insufflation needle is available to establish the initial pneumo- peritoneum prior to laparoscopic surgery. The needles are supplied 120mm and 150mm long and connect directly to the male luer lock of the extension line. Audible and visual indications are provided within the needle to assist in recognising penetration of the peritoneum.

The needles are provided sterile in a peel pouch.

Manufactured under the ISO13485:2003 Quality Management System are certified for CE marking.
