Price Guide: POA

Features of the Austofix PHN Standard Intramedullary Nail:

  • Designed by orthopaedic surgeons for orthopaedic surgeons, the PHN offers a sophisticated design with a number of unique features.
  • The oblique proximal screw configuration of the nail provides angle-stable fixation, restoring anatomic alignment of the humerus.
  • Austofix Humeral Head Screws incorporate a unique interlocking system which crushes in the nail and prevents screw back-out. The screws are low profile ensuring optimal subchondral support.
  • The Austofix PHN offers a minimally invasive technique via a percutaneous or deltoid splitting approach. Manufactured from Austofix high-nitrogen stainless steel (ISO5832-9), the nail retains superior strength, rigidity and corrosion resistance. This strength enables a diameter of only 8mm - the smallest profile of any humeral nail currently available – minimising disruption to the rotator cuff and enabling a faster return to activities of daily life. A 7mm nail is available for patients with narrow medullary canals.
