Large Mobility Scooters
Frequently asked Questions:
Q1 Can I get funding for my scooter?
A community equipment scheme may pay for a battery operated scooter if for example the beneficiary is unable to safely complete their activities of daily living within their home and unable to use a manual wheelchair, cane, crutches, or walker. Criteria apply for various funding. The first step is to contact your G.P and discuss with them and they can make the appropriate referral.
Q 2. Can I take my scooter on an airplane or ship?
All mobility scooters sold at Accessibility Online have batteries that are "maintenance free" and are allowed on airlines. Please check with the airline or booking agent directly to get their approval.
Will I be charged GST on a mobility scooter? No.*
What happens if my scooter breaks down?
Accessibility Online is here to support you after the sale which includes helping you with referrals to the right technicians at the right time should a problem arise .
Please call our Helpline and we initially try to troubleshoot it over the phone. Many times it is the flip of a switch or re-connecting a wire to help you get on your way again.
If we are not successful with that or it indicates a bigger problem we will provide you with Technician details closest to your area who can come out to your home to assess the problem in full.
He or she will advise if their are parts needed and we will check to see if this will be covered under warranty for you. Please go to our Returns and Warranty Policy on this website in the Help & Support section for detailed information if you have just purchased a scooter and need to check our policy details.
