The SL 980 is also available in a Digital Vision version, with a digital beam splitter and the Epsilon Lyrae software. The Digital Vision system provides high performances for pictures and video acquisition, with software with an examination and patient database. The Digital Vision system designed by CSO is composed of a digital camera with a Sony CCD sensor with a maximum resolution of 1392x1040 pixels. The system is able to acquire and save high-quality pictures and videos (with duration up to 3 minutes), by using a high quality colour correction algorithm.
Camera performances are maximised by using the Firewire technology, and excellent software optimised for ophthalmic purposes. CSO provides the optimum quality/price solution. Thanks to modern software platforms used, the Epsilon Lyrae software can work with more TCP/IP networked stations. The database can be shared with all the CSO instruments.
The diagnostic functionalities of the SL 980 slit lamps are constantly developed thanks to the collaboration with the greatest national and international hospitals, medical institutions, clinics and eye centres. The SL 980 series is characterised by a modern optic system project that provides an excellent resolution and a high contrast, thanks also to a five-multilayered anti-reflection treatment that ensures better depth of field.
The SL 980 slit lamp features a system for inserting yellow filters for fluoresceinic tests – the CSO slit lamps of Galileian microscopes with 3 and 5 magnifications and Zoom microscopes, provide the possibility to have the yellow filter (useful for fluoresceinic tests) directly inserted into the microscope box. This feature provides a faster and more comfortable examination, and a better efficiency of the eye vision.
