Standard seat belts are not suitable for many passengers with special needs. The wearer is able to 'wriggle' out of the seat belt or, into a position such that the seat belt may become dangerous.
Features and Benefits of the Hemco Special Needs Harness:
The wearer is unable to remove the harness. In exceptional cases, an extra 'anti-submarine' strap can be added to prevent the wearer sliding down and forward.
The Small Special Needs Harness must only be used for children weighing under 36kg, as the harness is designed to attach to the existing child seat anchorage in the vehicle.
The Medium and Large Special Needs Harnesses are designed to attach to an adult seat belt anchorage. The anchorage is made using a snap fitting and eye bolt for quick release.
These harnesses should only be used for users with special needs, they are not a substitute for standard seatbelt or child restraint.
Hemco Industries | Seatbelts, Health Equipment & Warehousing
Hemco Industries was founded in the early 1950s with the idea of designing automotive occupant restraints (seatbelts) for a market that had little appreciation of the strong forces involved in vehicle collisions.
Since the early 1970s the business has made its home in Ballarat, Australia and has grown and diversified to include business divisions of Seatbelts, Health Equipment and Warehousing and Transport.
Our Seatbelt Division has enhanced our product range over the years to cater for safety restraints in almost any vehicle, be it motorised or self propelled. Whereever the safety element of transport requires a seatbelt, then Hemco has the product to suit.
With our diversification into Health Equipment which provides all manner of support products for the Health Care industry. If we don't have a product specifically suited to the purpose you require, our development team may be able to assist.
