The Mocom Tethys H10 Hybrid Disinfection Device expands the traditional role of the thermal washer disinfector by adding ultrasonic cleaning as an initial step and delivering instruments dry and ready for packaging and sterilisation at the end of a 35-minute cycle.
"The Mocom Tethys H10 Hybrid Disinfection Device is the first unit that has been developed to completely remove manual intervention in dental instrument reprocessing," said Jim Owen, Sales Relationship Manager at Mocom Australia. "Dirty instruments are placed in the unit following use chairside and 35 minutes later, they are clean, dry and disinfected, ready for packaging and sterilisation.
"There is no more hand scrubbing required or waiting around for instruments to dry before sterilising. The Mocom Tethys H10 offers a fast, efficient, fully automated precursor to the sterilisation process that is safe for both operator and patient. It will deliver immediate benefits to any sized practice."
Owen said not only does the Tethys H10 process instruments in the baskets provided with the unit, it is also designed to accommodate instruments in cassettes, such as Hu-Friedy's Instrument Management System (IMS).
The Mocom Tethys H10 Hybrid Disinfection Device offers a range of custom processing cycles, allowing practices the flexibility to cater to any situation. The full "Disinfection D90" cycle compacts decontamination, washing, disinfection and drying into one simple, fast, automated process.
The full instrument processing cycle takes just 35 minutes and includes 4 steps:
- STEP 1. Pre-Rinse with detergent.
- STEP 2. Washing with ultrasound and detergent.
- STEP 3. Thermal disinfection (93 C).
- STEP 4. Forced-draught drying.
