Most lightweight folding power wheelchairs do not have suspension on the front end so while the user has a great looking power chair to use, they simply do not get the full benefits of comfortability when driving out.

The other issue was with loading their wheelchair into the back. The old style model joystick protruded well above the chair when it was folded which meant the user had to continually do one of two things; remove the joystick or, have to make sure the joystick couldn’t be knocked and get damaged.

We’ve listened to customer feedback and made some changes.

FRONT-END SUSPENSION UPGRADE

Problem solved by recreating and improving the PU tyre on the front end. The front castor now has perforated tyres to add to the suspension feel of the wheelchair.

When a person drives over bumpy surfaces, the tyres bend with it, thus giving the user a smoother ride. It is also the only lightweight travel foldable electric wheelchair on the market to have this.

JOYSTICK PROTRUSION WHEN FOLDED UPGRADE

The joystick protruded (sample last image) from the chair which meant possible damage to the joystick when loading, and an inconvenience to keep removing it to avoid damage especially for an elderly or person with a disability, or both.

The joystick protrusion has been removed by re-engineering the joystick bracket mechanism. The eagle electric wheelchair joystick can now be folded so the joystick tucks neatly & safely under so it is not protruding which now means, possible damage to the joystick when loading is non-existent, and moreover is not a daily irritation to the user when loading.

It is also the only lightweight travel folding electric wheelchair on the market to do this.
