Case Study: Occupational Therapist, Sydney, NSW

The clients were an elderly couple, 85 and 87, who were generally over-weight and with limited mobility.

Of particular concern was the husband who had an artificial leg as a result of long term type-2 diabetes.

The three main considerations were the need for him to be able to have additional room for his leg to be able to stretch out, having the hydrotherapy function and to allow him being able to get in and out safely in light of the right leg, while having a strong left leg. Additional grab bars were also fitted.

Using a LEFT door model allowed the client to safely swing his legs to face out of the bath, then to use grab bars to rise.

Model used was Windsor INDEPENDENT with Left door and hydrotherapy spa system
