"We care about the environment and the fact is that many of the people we care for smoke," said an Anglicare Spokesperson.
Anglicare Victoria provides care and crisis assistance to young people and families in need.
"Anglicare alleviates immediate hardship through services like emergency food and crisis accommodation for families and young people."
"Obviously the people we assist are suffering stress - and smoking is quite prevalent in our demographics."
"Those in our care who smoke tend to smoke profusely and we were not only concerned about the environmental impacts and unsightliness of cigarette butt litter, but also eliminating the risk of fires started from discarded cigarette butts."
"Anglicare contacted No BuTTs looking for assistance to deal with the problem of cigarette butt litter at their locations.
"Acknowledging that people smoke, especially when under stress, Anglicare Victoria has successfully solved the problem of cigarette butt litter and the resulting risk of fires by providing Designated Smoking Zones at all their locations that incorporate the installation of one or more No BuTTs Eco-Pole Wall-mounted and Post-mounted Ashtrays," said No BuTTs Managing Director, Jack Jacobson.
Anglicare provides programs like foster care, financial counselling, parent education and group work.
"As part of Anglicare's support services they also provide secure and protected refuges whose addresses they try not to make easily identifiable, so the logistics of their installations were a little more complicated with No BuTTs installation staff only being notified of the specific address the day of booked installations.
"That's not normally how we do it, but everything went well without a hitch and we also met a lot of very nice people at their locations, both staff and the people they are assisting," said Jack.
"No BuTTs were fantastic and all of our installations were completed without a problem in one day. We appreciate the professionalism of No BuTTs and also the quality of their products.
"No BuTTs Eco-Pole Ashtrays have been instrumental in eliminating butt litter at our locations and we know that smokers are happy to do the right thing with their butts if and when they can," said an Anglicare spokesperson.
"Anglicare exemplify a growing number of health and care based organisations that have realised the importance of dealing with cigarette butt litter and its consequences. They are assisting their smokers to do the right thing with their cigarette butts. That's good for all and great for our environment."
No BuTTs innovative range of wall and post-mounted ashtrays are designed to assist smokers to safely and easily dispose of their cigarette butts. They also provide ease to maintenance staff with an emptying process that only takes a few seconds with no disassembly required.
Over 500 Health, Care and Crisis based organisations across Australia are now using the No BuTTs range of Eco-Pole Ashtrays to eliminate cigarette butt litter at their locations.
