A Carehaven cardboard casket can support up to 240kg but only weighs around 7kg. This makes it easy for one person to place it on a table for friends and family to decorate with flowers, photos, markers, pens, or water colours. The final result is up to you. If you prefer to decorate away from a funeral home, your local coordinator can pick up the casket once you finish or arrange its delivery to their location. When assembled, a Carehaven cardboard casket measures 200x53x33cm / 79" x 21" x 13", fitting in most larger vehicles with foldable back seats.
Personalised
Families and friends can choose from three types of Carehaven cardboard caskets:
· Plain: These are simple, with no decorations.
· Personalized: You can draw or write on them with pencils, crayons, or markers.
· Photo Prints: You can add photos to the casket using special self-adhesive prints.
Environmentally friendly
Our caskets have a very low carbon foot print and environmentally friendly toughened cardboard.
"When the time comes, use a cardboard casket for me." Some families prefer a basic cremation without a traditional funeral or family gathering. The body is prepared for cremation or burial and placed in a simple casket for transportation. Many find that typical "basic" caskets can cost around AU$1,200 and are made of MDF or chipboard. A more affordable and eco-friendly option is an unadorned Carehaven cardboard casket.
Why is it important to gather with friends and family at a memorial service?
Gathering helps people find closure after a loved one's passing. The process is different for everyone, influenced by factors like age, beliefs, personality, family, and friends.
For those who want to decorate a Carehaven casket before a memorial event, Carehaven cardboard caskets are a great choice.
You can get a Carehaven cardboard casket from a participating funeral coordinator and have it delivered to your home or a nearby community center before the service. Some coordinators may let you write messages, poems, and decorations in a designated room before placing the deceased inside.
