Serco were to integrate non-clinical services through state-of-the-art technology to ensure the hospital runs smoothly and efficiently.
Areas of concern included the safe movement of waste, food, linen and general stock via Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV). In using AGV’s the Hospital wanted to ensure that maximum product was moved making manual movement difficult in areas the AGV could not be used due to weight. Warequip Solutions were asked to come up with solutions that would enable the Hospital to get maximum product moved with minimal manual handling.
Warequip Solutions came into this project after successfully completing an AGV compatible trolley, tug and associated equipment roll out at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney in 2012.
Their extensive experience with general materials handling solutions, coupled with their new found knowledge of AGV systems Warequip Solutions were able to present Serco with a vast range of handling solutions for this facility. Warequip Solutions senior staff regularly travel around the world to medical and other specialist trade shows to ensure the most up to date and relevant solutions are provided.
The overall solution provided incorporated a range of state of the art trolley systems sourcing the best and most appropriate hardware from Europe and the US while being manufactured in Australia, as well as a range of powered pedestrian operated movers to ensure the porter will never be required to handle the heavy trolleys.
