Pelican - Hard Plastic Flooring For Hoists

Hard Plastic Flooring is preferable to flexible plastic matting, as some matting is unsuitable for plush or high pile carpet where wheels can sink into the soft plastic surface. The Flooring can be placed wherever a hoist or wheelchair needs to move and also helps prevent carpet from being damaged by wheels.

• Smooth Movement – Makes wheelchairs and hoists much easier to move
• Protects Carpet – Prevents wheel marks and damage
• Wheels Will Not Sink – Works on plush and high-pile carpets
• Easy Setup – Lay, tape, and go
• Three Sizes – Rectangle, Large & Small Triangle (Custom sizes on request)

Benefit of Hard Plastic Flooring: Moving patient-handling equipment is much easier and safer on smooth, hard flooring. Carpeted surfaces create greater rolling resistance than hard flooring, as the fibres compress under the wheels. This compression increases the effort required to push equipment. Independent clinical and industry research consistently shows that smooth, hard floors require less force to move wheeled devices, with deep-pile carpet presenting the highest resistance. This added effort can contribute to fatigue or injury risk, especially with deep-pile carpet.
